Die steel

For the manufacturing of forging tools there are besides hot work steels die steels used. At close dies where the time of contact between tool and forging is insignificant a special high ductility for a high forging quantity is requested.

As most important material 1.2714 needs to be mentioned which shows a good ductility and a high tempering resistance. We can offer this material either in annealed condition or in quenched and tempered condition of more than 400 HB. Due to its nickel content 1.2714 is very impact resistant which is especially meant for big die blocs and dies.

Due to a good full quenching and tempering a subsequent charging is also at big cross-sections without heat treatment possible.

We deliver forged round, flat and square steels in annealed and quenched and tempered condition.
